We’re looking for an engaging and charismatic Assistant Front Office Manager to be one of the faces of the newly updated Copthorne Hotel in Cardiff. We’re seeking a proficient Assistant Manager to help lead our team of professional front office colleagues to deliver the best possible experience with charisma and flair.

As Assistant Front Office Manager, you’ll manage all aspects of the front office (for example guest registration, check out, porter services, & concierge - all 24-hours a day, 7 days a week). You’ll support and encourage them to create a warm atmosphere that makes our guests feel at home - regardless of where they have travelled from in the world!

Your main duties will include:

  • Providing both strategic and ‘hands-on’ support to the reception, reservations and Night Reception teams to deliver a guest experience that is unique and truly brings the hotel theme to life.
  • Supporting the Front Office Manager in monitoring the departmental budget and controlling labour costs and expenses predominantly by managing day-to-day staffing requirements.
  • Assisting with identifying team training needs, overseeing the training and general development of the Front Office Team - ensuring effective on / off job training is completed.
  • Providing ongoing mentoring, coaching and regular feedback to existing colleagues, managing conflicts and consciously working to improve all team members' performance.
  • Carrying out Duty Manager shifts as required by the needs of the business, and having sufficient working knowledge of all other hotel functions to be able to deputise in the absence of the Front Office Manager.

Qualifications:

  • Minimum of 2 years previous experience in a Supervisory or Assistant Reception Manager position, with working knowledge of all hotel operations.
  • Attentive, professional customer service skills.
  • Confidence, professionalism and engaging personality.
  • Experience of using Opera CLOUD software (knowledge of MICROS POS software would be advantageous).
