Millennium Hotel and Conference Centre Gloucester London is seeking a Banqueting Manager to manage the overall day-to-day operation of the food and beverage team, as well as liaise with other departments to ensure the delivery of service excellence at all times as directed by the Food and Beverage Manager/General Manager. The successful candidate will be fully conversant with all Emergency and Security Procedures in the Hotel and take charge of any situation that may arise.
Key Responsibilities:
- Assist in ensuring that function rooms are set up at least one hour before each event and according to the banquet order.
- Be present on the client’s arrival to welcome them and help check their needs.
- Oversee, help and observe waiting staff to ensure standards are maintained at all times.
- Ensure that menu briefings and relevant function details are given to all casual staff before food service.
- Maintain close liaison with the Operations Manager and Chef regarding all food-related issues, particularly changes in numbers and times.
- Ensure attention to detail relating to the functions and report any changes to the relevant Event Planner.
- Remain in continuous contact with the organiser during an event and react quickly to any changes which may occur.
- Ensure that all service areas are kept clean and tidy and that fire exits and corridors are clear.
- Assist in preparing a monthly maintenance checklist for all function rooms for submission to the Maintenance Department.
