We’re on the lookout for a Carer to join the team at Lavender Hills Care Home.
Role Overview: As a Carer, you will support the home in delivering the highest standards of person‑centred care preserving the dignity, respect and wellbeing of our residents at all times. Experience working in a health and social care setting is preferred, however, this is not essential.
Role Specific Duties:
- Ensure that residents are at the heart of care delivery and their wishes and preferences are taken into consideration to enhance their wellbeing.
- Understand personal care planning and take responsibility for all aspects of care where required.
- Contribute to the efficient running of the home at all times.
- Support residents to maintain their relationships and connections with the local community.
- Ensure the highest standard of individualised person‑centred care and attention is given to all residents, treating them with dignity, privacy and respect at all times.
- Support and assist residents with personal care such as washing and dressing.
- Administer daily medicines in line with GP instructions and liaise with the Nurse in charge once completed.
- Undertake minor medical duties such as oral hygiene, application of topical creams, skin integrity checks, catheter care and end‑of‑life care.
- Ensure, along with the wider team, that all residents' needs – medical, physical, social and emotional – are being met.
- Promote and safeguard the welfare of the residents we support.
Working with Others:
- Develop effective working relationships with other employees and support and develop new and less experienced members of the team.
- Attend daily clinical meetings arranged by the nurse in charge.
- Attend and participate in team meetings.
- Inform the Nurse in charge promptly of any changes in residents' needs.
- Maintain and develop relationships with residents, their families, friends and other visitors to the home.
- Be responsible for the health and safety of yourself as well as others in the home under the Health and Safety regulations, reporting any hazards promptly.

- Seek opportunities for professional and personal growth and development.
- Be a role model for other members of the team and an ambassador for the service.
- Be professional, polite and reasonable at all times.
- Provide a warm welcome to all new residents, team members and all visitors, familiarising them with the home.

- Attend statutory training and any other training as directed while being open to learning opportunities.
- Have a basic knowledge of CQC and the fundamental standards.
