As a Care Assistant, you will support the team delivering the highest standards of person‑centred care preserving the dignity, respect and wellbeing of our residents at all times. You will support and enable residents to maintain their skills and personal interests at all times whilst maintaining your skills and undertaking such training and development as required. Experience working in a health and social care setting is preferred, however, this is not essential.
Role Specific Duties
- Ensure that residents are at the heart of care delivery and their wishes and preferences are taken into consideration to enhance their wellbeing.
- Take responsibility for all aspects of personal care planning where required.
- Contribute to the efficient running of the home at all times.
- Support residents to maintain their relationships and connections with the local community.
- Provide the highest standard of individualised person‑centred care and attention to all residents while treating them with dignity, privacy and respect.
- Assist residents with personal care such as washing and dressing.
- Undertake minor medical duties such as oral hygiene, application of topical creams, skin integrity checks, catheter care and end‑of‑life care.
- Ensure, along with the wider team, that all residents' needs—medical, physical, social and emotional—are met.
- Promote and safeguard the welfare of the residents we support.
Working with Others
- Develop effective working relationships with other employees and support and develop new and less experienced team members.
- Attend daily clinical meetings arranged by the nurse in charge.
- Attend and participate in team meetings.
- Maintain and develop relationships with residents, families, friends and other visitors to the home.
- Ensure the health and safety of yourself and others in the home and promptly report any hazards or potential hazards to the relevant person.

- Seek opportunities for professional and personal growth and development.
- Be a role model for other team members and be an ambassador for the service.
- Be professional, polite and reasonable at all times.
- Provide a warm welcome to all new residents, team members and visitors and familiarise them with the home.
Personal and Professional Development
- Attend statutory training and any other training as directed while remaining open to learning opportunities.
- Have a good understanding of dementia and how it affects those living with the disease.
- Have a basic knowledge of CQC and the fundamental standards.
- Adhere to all of Millennium Care UK Ltd.’s policies and procedures.
