We’re looking for a warm and outgoing Care Assistant to join Lavender Hills Care Home, located at Stubbins Vale Rd, Ramsbottom, Bury, Lancashire.
Responsibilities
- Ensure that residents are at the heart of care delivery and their wishes and preferences are taken into consideration to enhance their wellbeing.
- Understand personal care planning and take responsibility for all aspects of care where required.
- Contribute to the efficient running of the home at all times.
- Support residents to maintain their relationships and connections with the local community.
- Provide the highest standard of person‑centred care, treating residents with dignity, privacy and respect at all times.
- Assist residents with personal care such as washing and dressing.
- Perform minor medical duties such as oral hygiene, application of topical creams, skin integrity checks, catheter care and end‑of‑life support.
- Ensure, in collaboration with the wider team, that all residents’ medical, physical, social and emotional needs are met.
- Promote and safeguard the welfare of the residents we support.
Working with Others
- Develop effective working relationships with other employees and support and develop new and less experienced members of the team.
- Attend daily clinical meetings arranged by the nurse in charge.
- Participate in team meetings.
- Maintain and develop relationships with residents, their families, friends and other visitors to the home.
- Take responsibility for personal and collective health and safety, reporting hazards promptly.
Leading by Example
- Seek opportunities for professional and personal growth and development.
- Act as a role model for other team members and be an ambassador for the service.
- Maintain professionalism, politeness and reasonableness at all times.
- Provide a warm welcome to new residents, team members and visitors, familiarising them with the home.
Personal and Professional Development
- Attend statutory training and any other training as directed, while remaining open to learning opportunities.
- Have a good understanding of dementia and its impact on residents.
- Have a basic knowledge of CQC and the fundamental standards.
- Adhere to all of Millennium Care UK Ltd.’s policies and procedures.
Qualifications
- Experience working in a health and social care setting is preferred, however, this is not essential.
