MILLBROOK PRECISION ENGINEERING LIMITED is a premier provider of large heavy subcontract CNC and conventional engineering machining solutions, specializing in handling components up to 10 tonnes in weight and 3 meters (10ft) in diameter or cubed. Located in Clay Cross, Chesterfield, Derbyshire, near Junction 29 of the M1 motorway, the company offers services to clients throughout the UK. Expertise includes large horizontal boring, vertical boring, vertical turning, horizontal turning, and CNC milling. With a well-equipped machine shop and a focus on precision, MILLBROOK is committed to delivering reliable, high-quality machining services to its clients.
This is a full-time, on-site role for a CNC Turner/Programmer/Supervisor located in Clay Cross. The role includes programming, setting up, and operating CNC turning machines to manufacture precision components.
Responsibilities include:
- Interpreting technical drawings
- Ensuring adherence to quality standards
- Problem-solving machining challenges
- Supervising and mentoring team members
- Ensuring efficient workflow on the shop floor
- Monitoring and maintaining machinery and tools to high standards
Qualifications:
- Proficiency in CNC programming, particularly with software and systems associated with Fanuc or Fagor
- Skilled in interpreting engineering drawings, machining specifications, and measurement tools
- Hands-on experience in setting up and operating CNC lathes and turning machines
- Ability to supervise, mentor, and motivate a team, promoting effective teamwork and productivity
- Problem-solving skills to troubleshoot issues during the machining processes
- Strong understanding of quality control standards and practices in machining
- Excellent organizational skills and the ability to manage workflows efficiently
- Prior experience in large, heavy engineering machining is advantageous
- Commitment to safety standards and ensuring a safe work environment
- Relevant technical qualifications or apprenticeship in machining or engineering is preferred
