We are looking for a Product Manager to join our team at Ultimate Healthcare (Totton).
The main purpose of the role is to own the UHC product range, both in existence and development.
To review and manage the portfolio performance, lifecycle and growth.
To lead on the development and launch of new products to market.
To be commercially driven and lead the product management, enabling success for UHC in a fast moving and competitive market.
Main Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide strategic direction across the sector channels
- Lead new product development and launches from concept, clinical validation, and business case through to launch, adoption, and post market optimisation
- Creating the reason for existence and building product briefs and guidance for supply chain to ensure the brief is met fully
- Working with supply chain to ensure brief is communicated, understood and met with throughout the product development
- Develop compelling value propositions and pricing strategies, clinical, and commercial justification
- Reviewing tenders to identify product gaps within the UHC offer and identifying potential new products
- Working with new product development team in developing and bringing new products to market and assisting in a successful launch
- Reviewing any product feedback from the field and/or tenders
- Creating documentation to support the product range
- Collate and communicate the clinical insight into a competitive advantage, identifying unmet needs, innovation opportunities and differentiation against the competition
- Be the product authority, training both the internal and external team as well as supporting customers as and when required
- Supporting with customer visits and exhibitions as required
- Monitor the product sales, assisting with forecasting and responding to market movements, ensuring UHC stay as a market leading company
- Assist with any product investigations when there is a need
- Work cross-functionally with Sales & Marketing, Regulatory, Supply Chain, and Operations to deliver profitable and compliant growth
- Track category performance and success metrics, using insight to continuously optimise portfolio mix, pricing, and channel strategy
- Potential requirement to stay away to complete the above tasks
- Keep abreast of regulatory and standards relating to the UHC product range
Essential Skills
- Excellent communicator.
- Ability to understand, analyse, write and present reports.
- Work well within a team environment but also able to work under the minimum of instructions and manage workload and prioritise to the business need.
- Analytical with commercial skills
- Ability to use excel to deep dive into data
- Confident in excel, microsoft, powerpoint, PDF editing, design and marketing.
- The Ability to problem solve and give valuable commercial insight and technical input into a new product development program

- A practical and/or technical background in healthcare would be advantageous - is preferred.
