We are looking for a Community Equipment Technician to join our Oxford Community Equipment Service Centre. The role involves delivery, installation, and collection of community equipment—ranging from walking frames and crutches to beds, hoists, and pressure care equipment—at homes, care homes, hospitals, and schools across Oxford. The technician may also be involved in servicing and repairing equipment and in minor adaptations such as installing handrails and grab rails.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver, install, and collect community equipment at customers' homes and other locations.
  • Service and repair equipment as required.
  • Carry out minor adaptations, including the installation of handrails and grab rails.
  • Operate the same-day and out‑of‑hours rota, covering weekends.

Qualifications

  • Previous relevant experience is preferable; full training will be provided.
  • Full UK driving licence (minimum 2 years) with no more than 6 points.
  • Able to load and unload goods, some of which may be heavy.
  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Basic DIY skills are advantageous for the adaptation side of the role.
  • Previous van driving experience would be beneficial.

  • Working hours: Monday–Friday 08:00–17:00.
