We have an exciting opportunity for an Occupational Therapy Assistant to join the team within our Essex Technology Enabled Care (TEC) Service Centre. This is an excellent opportunity where you will work as part of an engaged and motivated team, for a company committed to reward and recognition for a job well done. Livity Life works in partnership with the local authority to supply TEC solutions to support people in their day-to-day life. This TEC service provides the assessment of service users’ care technology needs all the way through to the installation, maintenance and review of technology equipment.

We are seeking a proactive and compassionate Occupational Therapy Assistant to support the delivery of TEC services across Essex. You will assist prescribers, conduct assessments, and deliver training to service users, carers, and professionals. This is a mobile role requiring travel across the county, so access to a car and a full UK driving licence are essential. Full training and support will be provided.

About the role:

  • Initial Triage & Screening: You will act as the first point of contact, helping to assess basic needs and direct referrals appropriately.
  • Prescriber Onboarding: You will support prescribers by guiding them through the TEC ordering process, offering practical help and confidence-building.
  • Education & Engagement: You will deliver training or induction sessions to new prescribers, helping to embed the TEC first approach.
  • Assessment Support: You will carry out low-level assessments under OT supervision, helping to speed up response times for equipment and TEC provision.
  • Consistency & Quality: You will ensure assessments are aligned with Essex protocols and TEC pathways, improving consistency across the system.
  • Enhanced Collaboration: Acting as a bridge between OTs, prescribers, and TEC officers, you will strengthen communication and coordination.
  • Travel & Coverage: Provide support across all areas in accurate records and manage time effectively while working in the community.

What are we looking for?

  • Experience in care, rehabilitation, or assistive technology is desirable.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Confident using digital tools and technology.
  • Full UK driving licence and access to a reliable vehicle.
  • Ability to work independently and collaboratively.
  • Desirable: Qualified TECS Trusted Assessor or to be completed within 6 months.

  • Monday to Friday 40 hours - 08.30 - 17.00.
