The role:
The Account Manager manages a company's customer relationships. They build long-term relationships with a group of customers and generally stay with them for the duration of their relationship with the company. The goal is to keep clients or accounts as long as possible. Account managers may oversee finding new business, be assigned prospects, given accounts, or a combination thereof.
Job Duties:
Job Duties: An Account Manager’s primary responsibility is to increase sales from both new and existing clients, but the wider job involves some of the following:
- Calling potential customers to prospect for new business.
- Generate sales among client accounts, including upselling and cross-selling.
- Operates as the point of contact for assigned customers.
- Develop and maintain long-term relationships with customers.
- Working closely with the entire team to ensure a seamless customer journey.
- Service multiple customers concurrently, often meeting deadlines.
- Keep records of client transactions using company systems.
- Ensure the timely and successful delivery of products according to customer needs and objectives.
- Responding to incoming email and phone enquires.
- Gaining a clear understanding of customers business needs and requirements.
- Creating detailed and accurate proposal documents.
- Representing the company at trade exhibitions.
What You’ll Bring:
Minimum 9 months' experience in commercial finance brokerage or lending
Must be able to demonstrate prior success in a like-for-like role
An understanding of asset finance, business loans, MCAs, refinancing, and government-backed lending
Proven track record in outbound sales, lead conversion, and pipeline management
Ability to build trust with clients and communicate funding solutions clearly and effectively
Comfortable managing deals from enquiry through to funding
Self-starter mentality with a proactive, results-driven approach
Excellent communication, negotiation, and relationship-building skills
Teachable, motivated, and open to feedback and development
Strong attention to detail and confidence using CRM and internal systems
A passion for helping UK businesses succeed through better access to finance

You’ll be asked to present a short plan on how you would build a strong pipeline of SME clients - including your outreach strategy, relationship-building approach, and how you’d aim to hit your revenue targets. You’ll also share why you’re the right fit for Millbrook.
