We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the delivery of high-quality electrical engineering designs, ensuring technical excellence, safety, compliance, and innovation throughout project lifecycles.
Working as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team, you will take responsibility for electrical design activities on major water sector projects, whilst providing technical leadership, mentoring junior engineers, and coordinating with suppliers, subcontractors, and key stakeholders.
- Experience of Waste Water Treatment plant or Sewage Networks design.
- Deliver high-quality electrical design packages in accordance with project requirements, regulatory standards, and industry best practice.
- Produce detailed electrical calculations, schematics, single-line diagrams, cable schedules, and layout drawings.
- Lead electrical engineering design activities across water sector projects from concept through to detailed design.
- Prepare technical reports, engineering specifications, design investigations, and supporting documentation.
- Manage and coordinate electrical design interfaces with multidisciplinary teams.
- Define scopes of work and oversee subcontracted electrical design activities.
- Liaise with equipment suppliers and manufacturers to ensure technical compliance and project requirements are met.
- Review and implement engineering changes throughout project delivery.
- Accurately estimate design resource requirements and support project planning activities.
- Attend and represent the engineering team at client meetings, design reviews, and stakeholder workshops.
- Provide mentoring, guidance, and technical support to junior engineers, graduates, and CAD technicians.
Minimum 10 years' experience in electrical engineering design.
Proven experience delivering projects within the water and utilities sector.
Strong practical experience in Low Voltage (LV) electrical design.
HND, Degree, or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline.
Proficiency in engineering software and design documentation tools.
Membership of a recognised professional engineering institution such as the IET.
Excellent communication, stakeholder management, and technical leadership skills.
Ability to manage multiple priorities whilst maintaining high standards of quality and safety.
