Location: Stretford, Manchester (Hybrid Working Available 3 days from the office and 2 days from home)

Contract: 12-Month +

Hours: 40 Hours Per Week

Rate: £56.82 Ltd per hour (Subject to IR35 Assessment Confirming Outside IR35 Status)

The Opportunity

We are seeking an experienced Senior Electrical Engineer to lead the delivery of high-quality electrical engineering designs, ensuring technical excellence, safety, compliance, and innovation throughout project lifecycles. Working as part of a multidisciplinary engineering team, you will take responsibility for electrical design activities on major water sector projects, whilst providing technical leadership, mentoring junior engineers, and coordinating with suppliers, subcontractors, and key stakeholders. Experience of Waste Water Treatment plant or Sewage Networks design.

Key Responsibilities

  • Deliver high-quality electrical design packages in accordance with project requirements, regulatory standards, and industry best practice.
  • Produce detailed electrical calculations, schematics, single-line diagrams, cable schedules, and layout drawings.
  • Lead electrical engineering design activities across water sector projects from concept through to detailed design.
  • Ensure compliance with relevant legislation, standards, specifications, and company procedures.
  • Prepare technical reports, engineering specifications, design investigations, and supporting documentation.
  • Manage and coordinate electrical design interfaces with multidisciplinary teams.
  • Define scopes of work and oversee subcontracted electrical design activities.
  • Liaise with equipment suppliers and manufacturers to ensure technical compliance and project requirements are met.
  • Review and implement engineering changes throughout project delivery.
  • Accurately estimate design resource requirements and support project planning activities.
  • Attend and represent the engineering team at client meetings, design reviews, and stakeholder workshops.
  • Provide mentoring, guidance, and technical support to junior engineers, graduates, and CAD technicians.
