The Role
As a Control & Safety Systems Engineer, you will be responsible for designing, implementing, and optimising industrial automation and safety systems to ensure reliable, compliant, and efficient operations. You will play a key role across the full project lifecycle—from initial concept and design through to commissioning and ongoing improvement.
Key Responsibilities
- Engineering Design & Solution Delivery
- Design and develop control and safety system solutions (e.g. DCS, SIS, PLC) in line with customer requirements and industry standards
- Carry out feasibility studies, simulations, and testing to validate design concepts
- Translate technical and business requirements into detailed engineering specifications
- Implementation & Commissioning
- Configure, test, and deploy systems at customer sites
- Support Factory Acceptance Testing (FAT) and Site Acceptance Testing (SAT)
- Ensure delivery is on time, within scope, and meets quality expectations
- Standards, Compliance & Safety
- Apply engineering standards, specifications, and best practices
- Ensure compliance with relevant regulations (e.g. IEC, functional safety)
- Conduct inspections and assessments to maintain system integrity and safety
- Project & Stakeholder Management
- Deliver work in line with project plans, timelines, and budgets
- Liaise with internal teams, suppliers, and subcontractors
- Act as a technical point of contact during project execution
- Continuous Improvement
- Identify and implement improvements to engineering processes and tools
- Contribute to innovation and digitalisation initiatives
- Support knowledge sharing and best practice across teams
- Documentation
- Produce accurate technical documentation, reports, and specifications
- Maintain project records in line with quality standards
Key Skills & Experience
- Strong background in Control & Safety Systems (DCS, SIS, PLC)
- Experience in engineering design, implementation, and system integration
- Knowledge of functional safety and relevant standards (e.g. IEC 61508 / 61511)
- Experience supporting testing and commissioning activities (FAT/SAT)
- Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
- Ability to manage stakeholders and communicate effectively
Qualifications
- Degree in Engineering (Electrical, Automation, Control Systems, or similar)
- Proven experience within industrial or process environments
