An opportunity has arisen for an experienced Environmental Consultant to join our client’s Consultancy Services Division. In this pivotal role, you will provide expert guidance on radioactive waste management, decommissioning, and environmental restoration projects that shape a safer, cleaner future. Responsibilities
- Provide expert guidance on radioactive waste management, decommissioning, and environmental restoration projects.
What You’ll Bring to the Table
- Recognised professional qualifications (e.g., BSc/MSc/PhD) and membership of relevant technical or professional bodies.
- Proven experience in a similar Environmental/Waste Management Consultant role where you have worked in decommissioning, waste management, or environmental restoration/remediation projects.
- Proven experience in producing high-quality technical deliverables such as reports, procedures, and guidance documents.
- Knowledge of related procedures such as ISO standards (9001, 14001, 45001), and familiarity with confidential and commercial information handling.
- Excellent communication skills, capable of collaborating with internal teams, clients, and external stakeholders at all levels.
- Proficiency in MS Office and solid organisational and prioritisation skills.
Nice to Have Skills
- Experience managing bid proposals and project delivery within budgets up to £50K.
- Familiarity with industry best practices and technical secretariat support.
- Knowledge of environmental legislations and compliance standards.
- Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with clients and operational teams.
Preferred Education and Experience
- Recognised degrees in environmental sciences, engineering, or related fields.
- Membership of professional bodies such as the Institute of Environmental Management or equivalent.
- Demonstrated experience in leading technical projects and authoring procedural documents.
Other Requirements
- Willingness to work in a collaborative environment, liaising with diverse teams.
- Commitment to adhering to health and safety policies, including Level 2 Health & Safety training (training provided if needed).
- Ability to travel as required for project site visits and stakeholder meetings.
- As the work is related to Nuclear and Defence related projects, you will need to be willing and able to gain the needed Security clearance to gain access to the information and sites related to the projects supported.
