Start your office career with Millbank! We are looking for a friendly, professional, and organised Receptionist to join our team on a temporary basis for 3 months initially. This part-time role is perfect for someone looking to gain or build experience in a busy, professional front-of-house environment.
Hours: 16–20 hours per week (must be available Fridays 1:00–5:00pm; other hours flexible)
Duration: Temporary – 3 months
Pay: National Minimum Wage (rate dependent on age)
Your duties and responsibilities will be:
- Greet visitors and manage sign-in processes with a warm and professional approach.
- Handle incoming calls, screen unsolicited calls, and manage voicemail messages.
- Take and email accurate phone messages including names, numbers, and key details.
- Receive, sort, and distribute incoming post and deliveries.
- Make travel arrangements (trains and hotels) for staff as required.
- Maintain a clean, organised, and welcoming reception area.
- Conduct regular meeting room checks and manage bookings.
- Log maintenance issues and building faults, ensuring follow-up.
- Assist with printing, binding, and ordering of consumables.
- Provide reception handover and support for facilities-related queries.
- Coordinate car parking and maintain relevant logs.
- Support in the absence of the Head Receptionist with basic administrative duties.
About You:
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Well-presented, reliable, and able to stay calm under pressure.
- Organised and detail-oriented with good IT skills (especially Microsoft Office).
- Able to work independently and as part of a team.
- Must be available Fridays 1:00–5:00pm.
