Do you have proven experience developing and managing detailed programmes for major civil engineering or infrastructure projects (preferably using P6 or MS Project)? Can you demonstrate a strong understanding of the commercial and contractual implications of programme changes on NEC based projects? Are you ready to play a key role in one of the UK’s most ambitious and technically complex energy infrastructure programmes?
Your duties and responsibilities will be:
- Evaluate project contract documents to develop and maintain detailed programmes specifying time and resource requirements.
- Support Package Managers and the wider project team on all planning related matters.
- Review construction progress with input from delivery teams; update programmes and issue required reports.
- Collate progress information and produce weekly progress reports, weekly work plans, and monthly dashboards.
- Highlight progress risks or concerns and work with the Planning Lead and Construction Team to develop mitigation strategies.
- Assess scope changes, additional work orders and interface impacts, coordinating with Commercial teams regarding cost and contractual implications.
- Attend internal, client and third party meetings as required.
- Liaise with client planners and package managers to ensure aligned programme delivery.
- Provide planning support to site teams, ensuring planning processes.
- Assist with forecasting resource requirements, including software and hardware.
- Prepare resourced programmes and validate conformance with project requirements.
- Develop visual planning material and undertake programme risk analysis.
- Ensure clear communication of planning information across all relevant parties.
- Maintain internal and external programmes throughout the full LPT2 lifecycle.
- Manage programming of compensation events and interface driven early works.
- Ensure programme activities support on time or early project completion.
You will have the following qualifications & experience:
- Extensive experience in civil engineering planning or an HNC in a construction related discipline.
- Broad understanding of construction methodologies and production outputs.
- Proven experience applying a wide range of planning techniques for both tender and delivery phases.
- Strong commercial and contractual awareness within the planning function.
- Competent use of industry planning software (e.g., Primavera P6, MS Project).
- Good working knowledge of Microsoft Office applications.
- Ability to communicate clearly with multidisciplinary teams and clients.
- Strong organisational and analytical skills, with the ability to identify risks and propose practical mitigation.
It’s great if you also have the following:
- Experience within major infrastructure or tunnelling projects.
- Experience working in a joint venture or multi tier contractor environment.
- Knowledge of programme risk analysis tools (e.g., Risk, Acumen Fuse).
- Experience delivering planning for NEC based contracts.
- Exposure to electrical transmission or energy sector projects.

Working closely with engineering, delivery and commercial functions, you’ll contribute to one of the UK’s most significant energy infrastructure upgrades.
