We are seeking an experienced Senior Bid Writer and Bid Writer to join our client’s team, a leading Tier 1 civil engineering and infrastructure business. Based in either London or Wiltshire, the company currently turns over more than £105m in the UK and has over £1bn worth of projects currently live across the next 3-year programmes across the following projects: tunnelling, station upgrades, TFL bridge, hydro-power, data centre and Sellafield infrastructure works.

This is a high-profile opportunity for a commercially astute estimating professional with a proven track record of developing competitive tender submissions that secure work and withstand rigorous commercial scrutiny.

An accomplished Senior Bid Writer or a Bid Writer with extensive experience within the Civil Engineering and Infrastructure sectors. Proven ability to manage complex tender submissions from inception through to completion, producing high-quality, compliant, and persuasive bid responses.

Experienced in supporting bids across highways, utilities, rail, water, and major infrastructure projects, with a strong understanding of public and private sector procurement processes.

  • Lead the preparation, coordination, and submission of high-quality, compliant tender responses for civil engineering and infrastructure projects.
  • Review tender documentation and identify key client requirements, evaluation criteria, risks, and opportunities.
  • Develop compelling written responses that clearly demonstrate technical capability, value, innovation, and project delivery expertise.
  • Coordinate input from estimators, engineers, planners, commercial teams, and senior management to ensure accurate and competitive submissions.
  • Write and maintain a library of bid content, case studies, CVs, and supporting documentation.
  • Ensure all submissions are aligned with company standards, branding, and quality requirements.
  • Prepare responses covering technical delivery, health and safety, quality, environmental management, sustainability, and social value requirements.
  • Conduct quality reviews and proofread tender documents to ensure consistency, accuracy, and compliance.

Extensive experience as a Bid Writer or Senior Bid Writer within the Civil Engineering, Infrastructure, Construction, or Utilities sectors. Proven track record of leading and coordinating successful bids for major civil engineering and infrastructure projects. Experience preparing high-quality responses for PQQs, SQs, ITTs, RFPs, and framework submissions.

Strong knowledge of civil engineering disciplines including highways, rail, water, utilities, earthworks, structures, and infrastructure projects. Excellent written communication, editing, and document management skills with exceptional attention to detail. Knowledge of social value, sustainability, health & safety, quality, and environmental requirements within the construction sector.

Degree or HNC/HND in Civil Engineering, Construction Management, Business, English, Communications, or a related discipline.
