As a member of our in-house team of design and project engineers, you will play a pivotal role in delivering high-quality Electrical Control and Instrumentation (EC&I) designs for electrical control panels and associated systems. The salary will be between £50-60k dependent on experience.
Your duties and responsibilities will be:
- Interpreting customer requirements and translating them into practical, compliant engineering solutions.
- Leading the EC&I engineering and design elements of projects from initial concept through to construction, including management of change control processes.
- Supporting the manufacturing phase, ensuring design integrity and responsiveness to technical changes.
- Planning and executing engineering tasks to meet specific project objectives, while maintaining control over cost, schedule, and quality.
- Representing the company in client-facing roles, effectively managing client expectations and ensuring alignment with project scope and deliverables.
- Producing, checking, and approving engineering and design estimates. Reporting project progress, scope changes, and resource usage with clear cost control.
You will have the following qualifications & experience:
- Previous engineering design experience or technical specialist experience in EC&I.
- A degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent qualification/experience.
- Prior experience in highly regulated industries such as nuclear, defence, oil & gas, or power generation is highly desirable.
It’s great if you also have the following:
- Low Voltage switchgear design.
- Control and automation system design.
- Motor Control Centre design.
- Variable speed drive systems.
- Familiarity with AutoCAD software packages, including EPLAN and AutoCAD Electrical.
- Experience with AMTECH software.
