We’re seeking a Commercial Manager to join a major EPCM framework based in Barnard Castle, North East England. This is your chance to lead commercially critical projects in one of the most dynamic and regulated sectors in the industry.

The Opportunity

As Commercial Manager, you’ll play a key role in overseeing the procurement and contract management of goods and services across a broad portfolio of construction and engineering projects. You’ll be embedded within high-performing delivery teams and act as a vital link between stakeholders, supply chain partners, and project leadership. This role offers variety, challenge, and the chance to influence everything from procurement strategy to profitability and long-term client relationships.

Your duties and responsibilities will be:

  • Supporting the Managing Surveyor in delivering commercial strategy across the EPCM framework.
  • Developing, implementing, and managing procurement and contract administration activities.
  • Overseeing supply chain engagement, tendering processes, and contract negotiations.
  • Managing cash flow, cost-value reconciliations, and profitability monitoring.
  • Providing commercial advice to project leads, including input on main contract T&Cs.
  • Acting as a key commercial presence across project teams, from minor works to large-scale complex builds.

You will have the following qualifications & experience:

  • Strong experience in procurement and contract management within the construction industry.
  • Demonstrated ability to lead commercial activities on complex, high-value projects.
  • Experience with both upstream (client-facing) and downstream (supply chain) commercial processes.
  • Skilled in contract negotiation, cost control, and strategic sourcing.
  • Proactive and collaborative approach to commercial problem-solving and stakeholder engagement.
