The Opportunity
A leading engineering contractor is expanding its major projects division and is looking for an experienced Commercial Manager to oversee high-value MEICA programmes. This is a senior, influential role where you’ll take full commercial ownership while helping to establish and develop a new commercial function.
Your duties and responsibilities will be:
- Leading commercial delivery across major MEICA projects, ensuring strong financial outcomes, controlled risk exposure and healthy cash flow.
- Managing all commercial stages of the project lifecycle, from early contract involvement through to final account settlement.
- Overseeing project controls, including cost planning, forecasting, change evaluation and performance reporting.
- Working closely with project teams to shape commercial strategy and support informed decision-making.
- Leading negotiations with clients, subcontractors and suppliers to secure commercially robust agreements.
You will have the following qualifications and experience:
- Extensive commercial management experience within MEICA or complex engineering-driven environments.
- A proven background delivering large-scale programmes valued at £50m or more.
- Strong capability in cost management, project controls and commercial reporting.
- Experience operating at Commercial Manager or Senior Commercial Manager level with the ability to guide and develop others.
- A relevant degree or professional qualification, with chartership beneficial but not essential.
