Car Allowance: £5,060 per annum

Job Type: Full-Time fixed Term contract until February 2028 (45 hours per week)

About the Role

We are looking for an experienced CAD Technician to join our growing engineering and design team, supporting the delivery of major civil engineering and infrastructure projects. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with strong AutoCAD experience who enjoys working within a collaborative design environment and has an interest in BIM, digital engineering and information management. Working closely with Design Engineers, Design Managers and project delivery teams, you will produce high-quality 2D drawings, manage project design information and support the successful delivery of design and construction documentation.

Key Responsibilities

  • Produce and amend accurate 2D engineering drawings using AutoCAD.
  • Prepare drawings and models to support design development and construction planning.
  • Ensure all drawings comply with project standards and quality requirements.
  • Manage drawing registers and project documentation.
  • Support the management of Common Data Environments (CDE) including platforms such as ProjectWise, ACC, Aconex or similar.
  • Coordinate design information to minimise clashes and improve project delivery.
  • Assist with BIM processes and support BIM execution where required.
  • Maintain document control and issue drawings in accordance with project procedures.
  • Liaise with engineers, designers and project stakeholders to ensure information is coordinated and delivered on programme.
  • Support project teams with 3D models, quantity take-offs, visualisations and other digital engineering outputs where applicable.

What We're Looking For

  • Essential Experience working as a CAD Technician within civil engineering, infrastructure or construction.
  • Strong AutoCAD skills.
  • Experience managing engineering drawings and design documentation.
  • Knowledge of Common Data Environments (CDE).
  • Understanding of construction design processes.
  • Excellent attention to detail and organisational skills.
  • Strong communication and teamwork abilities.

Desirable

  • Experience with Revit and BIM workflows.
  • Knowledge of ISO 19650.
  • Experience using ProjectWise, ACC, Aconex, Themis or similar CDE platforms.
  • Experience within heavy civil engineering, rail or major projects.
