I'm looking for an Executive Assistant / Right-Hand Person (a 2nd brain!) - South Devon

Flexible hours (around 3-4 days a week) · Mostly remote, with face-to-face time in Totnes at least twice a week · Above-market pay for the right person

ABOUT ME

I'm a Chartered Planning & Development Surveyor with 42 years in land, planning and property development. My main focus now is my training business, Millbank Land Academy, which trains SME housebuilders and community house groups how to create, successful, sustainable developments.

Alongside that I'm working on a PropTech start-up and dealing with a couple of planning applications.

I'm neurodivergent: ADD and apparently on the spectrum (according to my ex! ). I'm off-the-scale good at the big picture, ideas and complex problems, but easily distracted and not so good with the day-to-day: inbox, diary, follow-ups and the hundred small things that need doing. I'm saying this up front because the right person will see it as the job, not a problem.

THE ROLE

Your main job is to keep me focused, efficient and getting stuff done. You'll manage me as much as my admin: spot when I'm drifting, steer me back to what matters and make sure things actually get finished. Around 80% business, 20% personal.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

  • Keep me on task: daily check-ins, priorities set, distractions parked
  • Work alongside me (body doubling) to get things done
  • Keep an eye on my diary and protect focus time
  • Manage my inbox: triage, reply, flag and chase
  • Own the to-do list so nothing falls through the cracks
  • Follow up with advisers, clients, suppliers and my team
  • General business and light personal admin

WHO YOU ARE

  • Organised, calm and proactive
  • Firm, friendly and direct. You can hold me to account and I don't mind nagging
  • Good writer, discreet and trustworthy
  • You use AI tools (ChatGPT, Claude etc.) day to day to work faster
  • Confident with Microsoft 365
  • EA/PA experience, or you’ve run a busy household or business. Experience supporting a neurodivergent person is a real plus

HOW IT WORKS

  • Flexible hours, available at least a few hours each weekday. School hours are fine, so this suits parents
  • Mostly remote, with face-to-face time at least twice a week in Totnes
  • Employed or freelance and potential for full-time
  • Trial period to make sure we’re a good fit
