The predicted salary is between 35 - 40 £ per hour.

Location - Minffordd, Gwynedd

Site-based – 5 days per week

Hours - 40 hours per week

Salary - £40,000 - £45,000 per annum and car or Car allowance of £4,255 per annum or contract rate of £35-40 umbrella per hour (inside IR35)

About the Role

We are seeking a motivated and proactive Site Engineer to support the successful delivery of major construction projects. You will be responsible for providing engineering control, setting out, quality assurance and technical support while ensuring work is delivered safely, efficiently and in accordance with project specifications.

Working closely with the wider project team and subcontractors, you'll play a key role in maintaining high standards of quality, safety and compliance throughout the construction process.

Key Responsibilities

  • Engineering & Project Delivery
    • Provide accurate engineering control and setting out using the latest approved design information.
    • Maintain engineering records and site documentation.
    • Produce permits, task briefings and associated documentation for works within your area of responsibility.
    • Support the planning and delivery of works in line with the construction programme.
    • Assist in developing temporary works solutions and ensure they are implemented in accordance with approved designs and method statements.
    • Maintain accurate site diaries, progress records and resource information.
  • Health, Safety & Quality
    • Promote a strong health, safety and environmental culture across site.
    • Ensure all work complies with legal, company and project-specific requirements.
    • Carry out inspections and quality checks in accordance with Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
    • Maintain quality assurance records and identify non-conformances where necessary.
    • Report hazards, incidents and near misses promptly.
    • Identify design discrepancies or missing information and escalate for resolution.
  • Commercial & Project Support
    • Provide measurement and engineering information to support commercial reporting.
    • Maintain a good understanding of project specifications to ensure compliant delivery.
    • Work collaboratively with project teams and subcontractors to achieve programme objectives.
  • Documentation & Administration
    • Ensure all project documentation and engineering records are accurately completed and uploaded to project document management systems.
    • Maintain organised records to support quality, commercial and contractual requirements.
  • Teamwork
    • Work collaboratively with colleagues, subcontractors and stakeholders.
    • Support the development of junior engineers through coaching and knowledge sharing.
    • Contribute positively to continuous improvement initiatives across the project.

What We're Looking For

Essential:

  • Relevant engineering qualification (HNC/HND/Degree or equivalent).
  • Previous experience working as a Site Engineer within the construction or civil engineering sector.
  • Good understanding of engineering setting out techniques.
  • Knowledge of construction methods and industry best practice.
  • Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and specifications.
  • Strong organisational and communication skills.
  • Ability to maintain accurate site records and documentation.
  • A proactive approach to health, safety and quality.

Desirable:

  • Experience on major infrastructure or civil engineering projects.
  • Knowledge of temporary works procedures.
  • Appreciation of commercial and contractual processes.
