The Opportunity
We’re seeking a Principal Safety Case Engineer to join a dynamic and forward-thinking team working on some of the UK’s most significant engineering programmes. This is a unique opportunity to shape and deliver complex safety strategies that directly impact national infrastructure, energy, and security goals.
As a senior technical leader, you’ll be responsible for managing and delivering safety case and engineering activities, applying your expertise across multi-disciplinary projects and mentoring rising talent within the team.
Your duties and responsibilities will be:
- Leading the development of hazard management strategies and participating in HAZID/HAZOP studies
- Authoring radiological safety assessments, including safety reports (PSRs, PCSRs, etc.)
- Producing and reviewing calculations, design basis documentation, and technical reports
- Managing delivery through supply chain partners and monitoring performance against cost, risk, and schedule
- Sharing best practice across projects and providing strategic oversight on safety case arguments
You will have the following qualifications & experience:
- Chartered Engineer status (or actively working toward it)
- Proven experience working on complex, multi-discipline projects within safety case development
- Strong communication skills and a collaborative mindset
- Track record of mentoring or coaching junior engineers
- Engineering degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline
