The Opportunity

Due to a workload demand, an exciting opportunity has become available for an experienced TIG Welder to join one of our key clients, operating in the chemical manufacturing sector. This role will work in a team with seasoned welding & fabrication specialists. The role demands excellent attention to detail and confidence in working with specialist materials.

Your duties and responsibilities will be:

  • Perform high-precision TIG welding on components ranging from 0.8mm to 2mm in thickness.
  • Work with specialist or exotic metals such as titanium, nickel, or comparable alloys.
  • Follow exact welding specifications, tolerances, and quality requirements.
  • Carry out general fabrication tasks including measuring, cutting, prepping, and fit-up.
  • Support broader workshop activities when required (e.g., assembly, inspections, basic maintenance assistance).
  • Ensure all work meets internal quality standards, weld integrity requirements, and safety procedures.
  • Interpret engineering drawings and work accurately within strict tolerances.
  • Maintain a clean, safe, and organised working area.

You will have the following qualifications & experience:

  • Strong TIG welding experience with proven ability to weld thin-gauge materials.
  • Experience welding materials in the 0.8mm–2mm range.
  • Background with titanium, nickel, or similar high-performance alloys.
  • Ability to work to very fine tolerances on precision-critical components.
  • Competent in reading engineering drawings and following detailed technical instructions.
  • Flexible and willing to support general workshop duties when required.
  • Experience from any manufacturing or industrial sector is acceptable — precision experience is more important than industry background.

It’s great if you also have the following:

  • Experience in the chemical manufacturing/heavy industrial sector.
