Our Client is one of the most iconic and well-known leading Motorcycle manufacturers in the World. Creating modern classics and with a healthy order book, it is our privilege to now be supporting them with the recruitment of an experienced Manual Machinist (Prototype) on what will initially be a 12-Month contract basis, with high likelihood of this seeing extension at the end of the term.

Reporting to the Prototype Team Manager, in this role you will be responsible for the machining of all general machining activities in-house of prototype requirements for new projects to achieve the target as per the timeline. You will take responsibility for all general machining as per the drawing and requirement according to the timeline of the Team Manager - Prototype. You will also coordinate with all stakeholders in clarifying drawings and models with all design team members.

On offer to the successful candidate is a competitive hourly rate (inside IR35).

You will have the following qualifications & experience:

  • Should ideally be qualified with a BTEC, or equivalent in Engineering and/or perhaps instead be formal Engineering Apprenticeship trained, although plenty of relevant experience might also be considered.
  • Should be an experienced Manual Machinist who is competent in operating lathes, milling machines, drilling machines, and the use of hand tools like files, hacksaw, hand grinding machine etc.
  • Must have hands-on experience and full operational knowledge in all general machining activities (Lathe, Milling machine, Drilling machine, Parting machine).
  • You will have hands-on experience with all basic measuring instruments (Vernier Caliper, Micrometer, Height gauge, Bore gauge).
  • You will have knowledge and experience using all cutting tools, drills, reamers, standard gauges for the conventional machining area.
  • You must have knowledge and understanding in the study of engineering drawings.
  • Additional working knowledge in sheet metal, fabrication and inspection activities is expected.
  • Good communication skills (English) & necessary documentation to work in the area is certainly required.
  • Should be able to collaborate and coordinate with other team members on carrying out the works.

It’s great if you also have the following:

  • CAD experience and knowledge of PRO-E / ProEngineer and other software as additional knowledge.
  • A passion for Motorcycles.
