The Opportunity Due to increased expansion, our client, a multinational nuclear engineering consultant, are looking to recruit a Mechanical Layout Engineer to join a framework at their site in Bridgwater to join their Joint Design Office to help drive project progress and ensure maximum efficiency. Remuneration & Benefits Competitive Salary, Travel Expenses, Enhanced Pension, 32 days holiday, Healthcare Location: Bridgwater Your duties and responsibilities will be Assessing if the site request has layout impact, assessing requests coming from site that may impact Layout. Listing the impacts of the site change on all disciplines and other contractors. Producing technical assessment and solution, with supporting justification. 3D models, installation tolerances, introduction notes, interfaces, guaranty the design intent, update deliverables produced by the RD Back-Office if needed, proposed 3D model (with support of CAD designer) Liaising with other disciplines (HVAC, Piping, Equipment and Electrical) when needed. Liaising with design RD Back-Offices when needed. Liaising with NNB construction Team and installation contractor. Opening the dedicated change process to launch the implementation of the impacts.You will have the following qualifications & experience Ideally qualified to Degree Level and several years of experience. Previous EPR or other nuclear projects. Knowledge 3D design software (Navisworks) and 3D model visualisation for layout analysis. Experience of the general operation of nuclear power station and the associated safety aspects (in particular, aspects relating to nuclear safety, flooding, fire, radiological protection, high energy line ruptures.It’s great if you also have the following BPSS or SC Clearance Previous nuclear experienceThe setting for the role Risks and Hazards are in line with working on a nuclear licenced site. These can include, nuclear fuel, radiation, chemicals and gasses, high voltage equipment, moving vehicles, flammable materials, high pressure circuits, steam, high noise and vibration levels. A full site induction will be provided and all safety requirements must be adhered to when entering the site.
