Are you a Chartered Structural Design Engineer MISTRUCTE or MICE? Do you have Water sector experience of any sort? Do you live within commutable distance of Manchester?
The Opportunity
We are looking for a Principal Structural Engineer (ideally chartered MISTRUCTE or MICE) to lead and deliver structural design solutions across water sector projects, specifically for water treatment plants for utility companies.
Your duties and responsibilities will be:
- You will ensure design deliverables meet safety, quality, and industry standards, provide technical guidance, and mentor a team of engineers, CAD technicians, and graduates.
- You will work on projects under AMP8, including:
- Design of water retaining structures
- Foundations and structural works for water treatment equipment
- Retaining wall designs for sewage treatment works upgrades
You will have the following qualifications and experience:
- Significant structural design experience in water sector projects, including water treatment plants and related utility structures
- Chartered engineer preferred
- Strong technical knowledge and experience in structural design
- Ability to carry out reinforced concrete and steelwork calculations
- Leadership and mentoring skills for engineers, CAD technicians, and graduates
It's also great if you have the following:
- Familiarity with construction methods and materials used in water utility projects
- Knowledge of Engineering Drawing Practices
