This opportunity has arisen to support a busy, operationally focused business during a period of ongoing project delivery and workforce activity. The role offers a 6-month HR Advisor assignment ideal for a confident HR professional who enjoys providing practical, commercially aware HR support and building strong relationships with managers and employees.
You will play a key role in advising on employee relations matters, supporting consistent application of HR policies, and ensuring compliance with UK employment legislation and ACAS guidance. This is a highly hands-on role, offering exposure to site-based workforces, varied casework, and the chance to influence positive people practices within a dynamic environment.
Responsibilities- Provide proactive, day-to-day HR advice to managers and employees
- Act as a first point of contact for employee relations matters including disciplinary, grievance, capability, conduct and absence
- Lead and support formal investigations, including evidence gathering, note-taking and report writing
- Coach and support line managers on best-practice HR and ER approaches
- Support disciplinary, grievance and appeal hearings, including preparation and attendance
- Ensure compliance with HR policies, ACAS guidance and UK employment legislation
- Support recruitment activity to enable timely filling of vacancies
- Maintain accurate, confidential HR records and case documentation
- Provide HR support across multiple sites, responding effectively to operational demands
- Promote positive employee relations, engagement and wellbeing initiatives
- CIPD qualified (Level 3 or above), or working towards
- Proven experience in a generalist HR or HR Advisor role
- Practical, hands-on experience managing employee relations casework
- Sound knowledge of UK employment law and ACAS best practice
- Confidence working with managers in an operational or site-based environment
- Experience within construction, engineering, infrastructure, manufacturing or other site-based sectors
- Exposure to redundancy, restructuring or organisational change
- Experience supporting multiple sites or projects
- Ability to balance advisory work with operational priorities
This role operates within a site-based, project-driven environment, requiring flexibility, strong relationship-building skills and an ability to adapt quickly to changing priorities. You will work closely with managers and employees across locations, combining on-site support with advisory and administrative HR responsibilities.
