The Opportunity We are recruiting for a Project Controls Engineer to join a major infrastructure programme. You'll play a key role in ensuring effective project controls are embedded across the project lifecycle, providing accurate performance information and meaningful insights that support successful delivery. Working within either a PMO or delivery environment, you'll coordinate project controls activities across cost, schedule, risk, change and reporting functions, working closely with internal teams, supply chain partners and senior stakeholders. This is an excellent opportunity to join a complex, high-value programme where project controls are central to driving performance and informed decision-making. Your duties and responsibilities will be Coordinate and integrate project controls activities across cost, planning, risk and change management. Produce and maintain project performance reports, forecasts and schedule updates. Carry out variance analysis, trend analysis and performance assessments. Support the delivery of accurate and timely month-end reporting and project reviews. Work with supply chain partners to ensure project controls information is robust, consistent and reliable. Provide project performance insights and recommendations to project leadership teams and key stakeholders. Support governance, assurance and reporting requirements across the programme. Drive continuous improvement initiatives and promote project controls best practice. You will have the following qualifications & experience: Membership of APM, PMI, AACE or a similar professional body. Experience using Power BI and project controls reporting systems. Knowledge of NEC and/or FIDIC contracts. Experience working within highly regulated industries such as Nuclear, Defence, Energy, Rail or Utilities. It’s great if you also have the following Experience working as a Project Controls Engineer, Senior Project Controls Engineer or Project Controls Manager on major infrastructure, engineering or construction projects. Strong understanding of multiple project controls disciplines, including: Cost Management Planning & Scheduling Risk Management Change Control Performance Reporting Experience applying Earned Value Management (EVM) principles. Strong stakeholder management skills with the confidence to engage and influence at all levels. Excellent analytical, communication and presentation skills. Degree qualified (or equivalent experience) in Engineering, Construction, Project Management, Finance, Business or a related discipline.
