About the Role
As a key member of the Manufacturing Engineering Team, you’ll have the opportunity to work on some of the most stimulating and innovative EPC (Engineering, Procurement & Construction) projects in the UK. Based at a state-of-the-art control panel manufacturing facility/ Design office in Haydock, Merseyside, you’ll play a vital role in delivering electrical control and instrumentation (EC&I) design solutions for complex industrial systems.
What You’ll Do
- Lead and deliver EC&I engineering design for electrical control panels and associated systems.
- Interpret and translate client requirements into practical engineering solutions.
- Oversee the full EC&I project lifecycle, from design through manufacturing and testing, including change control management.
- Plan and execute tasks to meet project objectives — on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
- Engage directly with clients, managing expectations and ensuring project scope is delivered effectively.
- Prepare, review, and approve engineering and design estimates, reporting progress and cost control metrics.
What You’ll Bring
- Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
- Proven technical experience in EC&I design within a professional engineering environment.
- Experience in highly regulated industries such as nuclear, defence, oil & gas, or power generation (highly desirable).
- Strong understanding of project engineering principles, cost control, and quality management.
Desirable Skills & Knowledge
- Low Voltage (LV) Switchgear Design
- Control and Automation System Design
- Motor Control Centre (MCC) Design
- Variable Speed Drive (VSD) Systems
- Experience with EPLAN, AutoCAD Electrical, or similar CAD tools
- Familiarity with AMTECH design software
Security Clearance
Existing UK Security Clearance (SC) is advantageous. Candidates must be eligible to obtain UK security clearance due to the nature of the work.
