Location: Haydock, Merseyside (Hybrid working available)

Salary: £45,000 – £60,000 (DOE)

Hours: Full-time, 37.5 hours per week

About the Role

As a key member of the Manufacturing Engineering Team, you’ll have the opportunity to work on some of the most stimulating and innovative EPC (Engineering, Procurement & Construction) projects in the UK. Based at a state-of-the-art control panel manufacturing facility/ Design office in Haydock, Merseyside, you’ll play a vital role in delivering electrical control and instrumentation (EC&I) design solutions for complex industrial systems.

What You’ll Do

  • Lead and deliver EC&I engineering design for electrical control panels and associated systems.
  • Interpret and translate client requirements into practical engineering solutions.
  • Oversee the full EC&I project lifecycle, from design through manufacturing and testing, including change control management.
  • Plan and execute tasks to meet project objectives — on time, within budget, and to the required quality standards.
  • Engage directly with clients, managing expectations and ensuring project scope is delivered effectively.
  • Prepare, review, and approve engineering and design estimates, reporting progress and cost control metrics.

What You’ll Bring

  • Degree in Electrical Engineering or a related discipline, or equivalent practical experience.
  • Proven technical experience in EC&I design within a professional engineering environment.
  • Experience in highly regulated industries such as nuclear, defence, oil & gas, or power generation (highly desirable).
  • Strong understanding of project engineering principles, cost control, and quality management.

Desirable Skills & Knowledge

  • Low Voltage (LV) Switchgear Design
  • Control and Automation System Design
  • Motor Control Centre (MCC) Design
  • Variable Speed Drive (VSD) Systems
  • Experience with EPLAN, AutoCAD Electrical, or similar CAD tools
  • Familiarity with AMTECH design software

Security Clearance

Existing UK Security Clearance (SC) is advantageous. Candidates must be eligible to obtain UK security clearance due to the nature of the work.
