The Opportunity
A major Nuclear infrastructure project in the South East is seeking an experienced Work Preparation Lead to join the site team on a permanent basis. This role is critical in ensuring all documentation, materials, and conditions are fully prepared before construction activities begin, with a strong emphasis on safety, quality and regulatory compliance in a highly regulated nuclear environment.
Your duties and responsibilities will be:
- Ensure all information, materials and prerequisites are in place before physical work begins, maintaining a strong focus on safety and compliance.
- Bridge the gap between design engineering and on-site construction/installation teams.
- Oversee the readiness and compliance of documentation, materials and logistics for large-bore and small-bore piping installation.
- Act as the key interface between design teams, the client and construction teams to resolve technical queries before they impact schedule or quality.
- Lead the creation, coordination and acceptance of Construction Work Packs (CWPs) essential for field execution.
- Manage site preparation documentation and support the Site Manager with installation-related duties.
- Apply strong technical understanding of piping systems, pressure systems regulations, engineering standards and construction sequencing.
- Use tools such as Navisworks for design review and project management systems for planning and coordination.
- Promote and uphold a strong health and safety culture across all site activities.
Qualifications:
- HNC/HND or Degree in Mechanical Engineering (or related discipline).
- NVQ Level 3 or equivalent trade qualification.
Experience:
- Proven background in construction or installation environments.
- Experience within highly regulated sectors such as nuclear, oil & gas or petrochemicals.
- Strong track record on large-scale infrastructure projects.
