You’ll play a key role in maintaining site infrastructure, overseeing large-scale industrial plant, and ensuring legal compliance across a broad range of mechanical, electrical, and building services functions. Your duties and responsibilities:
- Maintain the office, depot, and associated facilities to the highest possible standards.
- Deliver both planned and reactive maintenance across mechanical, electrical, and building services.
- Monitor and maintain large industrial ammonia refrigeration plant to ensure optimum performance and uptime.
- Maintain documentation to support full legal compliance.
- Use the CMMS to ensure all scheduled maintenance tasks are completed.
- Carry out mandatory checks including: emergency lighting, legionella controls, refrigeration plant, dock levellers, access equipment/MHE, and more.
- Maintain and oversee building management systems, with particular focus on Trend.
- Manage stock levels to support safe and efficient operations.
- Install new plant, equipment, and associated systems.
- Continuously assess plant performance to maximise energy efficiency and operational reliability.
- Support internal moves, office furniture relocation, and configuration of meeting/training rooms (including AV equipment).
- Conduct planned and reactive plumbing and drainage work.
- Inspect and repair pallet racking.
- Undertake R&D for ongoing projects to support best practice.
- Perform electrical testing, troubleshooting, and fault finding.
- Support facilities management with contractual compliance and budget control.
You will have the following qualifications & experience:
- A completed trade apprenticeship with a minimum of 5 years' industry experience (maintenance or installation).
- Strong mechanical and electrical skills, ideally electrically biased.
- Proven fault-finding ability.
- Understanding of relevant Health & Safety legislation including Legionella control, Electricity at Work, and general H&S best practice.
- Strong decision-making ability on preventative and remedial maintenance.
- Excellent communication skills (written and verbal).
- Logical thinker with strong problem-solving ability.
- Ability to work both independently and within a team.
- Comfortable working at height.
- GCSEs (or equivalent) in Maths, English, and Science.
- ONC or C&G Mechanical/Electrical Engineering qualification.
- Full clean driving licence.
It’s great if you also have the following:
- C&G 2079 F-Gas certification.
- Understanding of BS EN 378:2008.
- BS 7671 (18th Edition) qualification.
- Initial & Periodic Electrical Inspection & Testing (2391) or equivalent.
- C&G 2377-77 (PAT Testing).
- Counterbalance FLT Licence.
- IPAF 3a/3b.
- PASMA certification.
