This major nuclear infrastructure project demands exceptional planning capability and programme discipline. As a Planning Engineer, you will support the development, analysis, and management of integrated project schedules, ensuring programme certainty and supporting decision-making across the project. Your duties and responsibilities will be:
- Develop, update, and maintain detailed construction schedules using Primavera P6.
- Support integrated planning across major civil engineering disciplines including earthworks, reinforced concrete, utilities, and heavy infrastructure.
- Track progress against key milestones for civil works such as foundations, structures, and underground services.
- Provide planning input into construction sequencing, temporary works, logistics, and site access strategies.
- Assist with resource planning for labour, plant, and specialist subcontractors.
- Work closely with design, construction, and commercial teams to ensure alignment between design deliverables and construction activities.
- Identify schedule risks, support mitigation planning, and contribute to robust risk analysis.
- Produce accurate planning reports, dashboards, and updates for project management and stakeholders.
- Support tender programmes and bid activities by contributing to programme strategies and construction sequencing.
You will have the following qualifications & experience:
- Degree or equivalent in Project Management, Civil Engineering, or related discipline.
- Experience as a Planning Engineer or Planner on major civil infrastructure projects.
- Strong working knowledge of Primavera P6 and recognised planning methodologies.
- Excellent analytical, communication, and stakeholder engagement skills.
- Ability to obtain and maintain appropriate security clearance.
It’s great if you also have the following:
- Experience working in nuclear, defence, or other highly regulated sectors.
- Knowledge of NEC contracts and planning-related requirements.
- Experience with risk analysis tools and earned value management (EVM).
