Do you have hands-on experience completing and reviewing COSHH assessments within a manufacturing or industrial environment? Do you hold a NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent) and have a strong working knowledge of UK Health & Safety legislation? Are you looking for a role where you can make an immediate impact on safety, culture, and compliance while supporting a fast-moving manufacturing environment?

This temporary (with a view to permanent) HSE position has arisen to provide additional on-site safety support during a period of increased operational activity. You’ll be joining a well-established, forward-thinking engineering and manufacturing organisation recognised for its strong safety culture and commitment to continuous improvement.

As a key member of the HSE function, you’ll play a crucial role in maintaining safe working practices, driving COSHH compliance, supporting risk assessments, and promoting a proactive safety culture across the site. This is an ideal opportunity for an HSE professional who enjoys being visible on the shop floor, solving problems, and contributing to a team that values collaboration, innovation, and employee wellbeing.

Your duties and responsibilities:

  • Supporting and advising management and employees on day-to-day health and safety matters
  • Carrying out, reviewing and maintaining COSHH risk assessments
  • Completing general risk assessments and safe systems of work
  • Conducting shop-floor inspections and safety audits
  • Investigating accidents, incidents, and near-miss events
  • Supporting compliance with UK health & safety legislation
  • Promoting a positive health and safety culture across the site

You will have the following qualifications & experience:

  • NEBOSH General Certificate (or equivalent)
  • Proven COSHH experience within a manufacturing or industrial setting
  • Strong understanding of UK health & safety legislation
  • Experience working in a manufacturing or production environment
  • Confident engagement skills with shop-floor teams

It’s great if you also have the following:

  • IOSH membership (TechIOSH / GradIOSH)
  • Experience in heavy or high-risk manufacturing environments
  • Exposure to ISO 45001 / ISO 14001 systems
