Would you like to play a key role on the Hinckley Point C nuclear new build, one of the UK’s largest and most complex engineering projects, based in Bristol?
An international engineering and technical services organisation is supporting the delivery of the Hinckley Point C nuclear power station and is looking to appoint a Cost Engineer to join the established Cost & Forecasting team. This role will focus on producing high-quality cost and performance information to support effective control, governance, and decision-making across the project.
This role would suit candidates working as Cost Engineers, Project Controls Engineers, Cost Controllers, Project Control Analysts, Commercial Analysts, Earned Value Analysts, Assistant Cost Managers, Planning & Cost Engineers, or Performance Analysts.
Responsibilities- Develop and maintain detailed cost and forecast information in line with agreed Cost and Work Breakdown Structures.
- Manage and update cost data within recognised project controls systems such as EcoSys and SAP.
- Produce regular cost and forecasting reports, providing clear narrative on key schedule drivers, variances, and performance trends.
- Support change management and trending activities, contributing to project-level risk and opportunity assessments.
- Generate performance indicators and analytical outputs to support management review and decision-making.
- Provide detailed cost analysis to senior cost and commercial leads to assist with prioritisation and corrective actions.
- Ensure cost data is accurate, robust, and compliant with project governance and reporting standards.
- Work closely with planning, engineering, and commercial teams to ensure alignment between scope, schedule, and cost.
- Contribute to the preparation of management briefings and formal project reports.
- Promote collaborative working and a strong culture of data integrity across the project controls function.
- HND or higher in Project Controls, Engineering, Construction Management, or a related discipline.
- Experience working in a cost engineering or project controls role within a complex project environment.
- Sound understanding of cost management, forecasting, and performance reporting methodologies.
- High level of attention to detail with strong analytical and problem-solving capability.
- Confident communicator, able to work effectively with multi-disciplinary teams and senior stakeholders.
