As the Risk Manager, you’ll support the programme lifecycle by identifying, analysing, and responding to risk and opportunity—ensuring delivery remains on track and aligned to core objectives. Based primarily in Glasgow (minimum 3 days per week, depending on programme need), you will work closely with other tranche risk leads and a joint project team spanning multiple delivery partners.

Key responsibilities include:

  • Refresh and maintain the Tranche 4 risk position and contribute to programme-level risk development
  • Chair monthly risk review meetings; facilitate risk workshops; produce minutes and monthly dashboards
  • Drive risk and opportunity identification and support the development of robust mitigation plans
  • Critically review risks to ensure they are proportionate, non-duplicative, and effectively managed
  • Track mitigation actions and report progress, ensuring risk exposure is reducing over time
  • Support QRR and produce QSRA/QCRA modelling outputs, including quarterly SRA/CRA reporting
  • Lead assumptions management and maintain relevant MDAL inputs
  • Build strong stakeholder relationships across the base team, partners, and suppliers, spotting emerging issues early

You will have the following qualifications & experience:

  • Proven experience as a lead/sole Risk Manager in complex programmes (ideally infrastructure)
  • Strong working knowledge of risk processes, governance, and issue management
  • Proven ability to analyse detailed information, identify trends, and communicate a clear “big picture” risk narrative
  • Confident workshop facilitator with strong stakeholder management and leadership presence
  • Hands-on experience supporting quantitative risk methods (QSRA/QCRA) and assumptions management
  • Strong IT capability and disciplined reporting (dashboards, registers, minutes)
  • Sole UK national with SC clearance held or obtainable prior to start, and comfortable working on-site at a secure environment
