The Business Analyst will play a key role in supporting investment decision-making and portfolio management activities across a diverse group of businesses and assets. The successful candidate will be responsible for evaluating potential investment opportunities, developing financial models, conducting commercial and financial analysis, and preparing investment papers and recommendations for the Executive Committee and Board. Alongside investment-related work, the individual will also support the ongoing monitoring and performance analysis of existing portfolio businesses. The role requires an individual who is comfortable analysing complex business situations, building robust financial models, engaging with senior management teams, and translating analysis into clear recommendations for decision-makers.
Key Responsibilities
- Build and maintain financial models to assess potential investment opportunities and strategic initiatives.
- Conduct commercial, operational, and financial due diligence on prospective investments.
- Prepare investment memoranda, board papers, and presentations for Executive Committee and Board review.
- Analyse financial, operational, and commercial performance across portfolio businesses.
- Develop reporting models, dashboards, and performance metrics.
- Support budgeting, forecasting, and business planning processes.
- Conduct market, industry, and competitor analysis.
- Assist with strategic reviews, acquisitions, disposals, and capital allocation decisions.
- Monitor key performance indicators and identify opportunities to improve business performance.
- Work closely with portfolio company management teams and senior stakeholders across the group.
