The predicted salary is between 36000 - 60000 £ per year.

We looking to recruit a full-time clinical practice pharmacist with a prescribing qualification, who is innovative and enthusiastic and has experience of working within a primary care team. We currently have a WTE Pharmacy Technician and work closely with a PCN Pharmacists for 1 day at the practice and the Local Medicines Management team 1 day.

We have excellent practice prescribing history and involvement with the medicines management team at St Helens CCG.

Main duties of the job

The successful candidate will work closely with and be an integral part of the pharmacy team, that will support the GPs and wider primary care team to deliver safe effective care. You will deliver medication related patient services, including direct patient care. You will be a leader and will support and guide members of the practice team to maximise safe and effective prescribing and maintain and improve the quality of patient care within the practice. You will be keen and enthusiastic and have a sense of humour, which will ensure that you fit in extremely well with the practice team!

About us

Mill StreetMedical Centre is a five GP partner practice caring for 10600 patients in StHelens town Centre in Merseyside. We have an excellent clinical team consisting of 4 GP Partners, 3 Salaried GP\’s, 3 Practice Nurses and 2 Health Care Assistants.

Our clinical team is supported by an administration team consisting of Practice Manager, Administration Manager and Reception Manager with a team of Patient Care Advisors all helping to provide a service to our practice population.

Job responsibilities

Responsible for supporting the partners in ensuring effective medicine management within the practice, identifying areas for improvement and initiating and managing change.

Overarching responsibilities

  • To deliver Medication related patient services as determined by practice policy and local and national guidance.
  • Lead, support and guide the in-house prescription and pharmacy team, in order to maximise safe, cost-effective prescribing and maintain and improve the quality of patient care.
  • Liaise and provide support to both medical and non-medical prescribers in the practice to ensure safe, cost-effective prescribing.

Person Specification

Qualifications

  • Degree in Pharmacy, MPharm and prescribing qualification.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Demonstrate the ability to communicate complex and sensitive information in an understandable form to a variety of audiences e.g., patients
  • Able to obtain and analyse complex technical information
  • Able to work under pressure and to meet deadlines
  • Produce timely and informative reports
  • Work effectively independently and as a team member
  • Self-motivation
  • Adaptable

Experience

  • Experience of working within a Primary Care Team and GP Practice.
