Responsibilities:
- Oversee daily operations, including import, export, and cross-trade shipments.
- Monitor shipment flow, resolve operational issues, and manage exceptions or delays proactively.
- Lead the team to achieve the department's KPI goals.
- Act as the main escalation point for operational issues with customers, vendors, carriers, and overseas agents.
- Monitor operational costs, productivity, and shipment margins to ensure profitability.
- Identify inefficiencies and implement corrective actions to improve turnaround time and cost control.
- Review vendor invoices, resolve discrepancies, and support billing accuracy.
- Ensure full compliance with customs regulations, trade compliance requirements, and company SOPs.
- Review and improve internal workflows, SOPs, and systems to enhance operational efficiency and service quality.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives and best practices across operations.
- Provide back-up support to the Operations Manager.
- Collaborate closely with Sales, Commercial, and Finance departments to ensure seamless service delivery and financial alignment.
- Participate in strategic planning and budgeting for the operations department.
- Other duties as assigned by the Operations Manager and/or higher management.
Requirements:
- Proven experience in operations management within the logistics or supply chain industry; experience in chemical logistics or tank container operations is an advantage.
- Strong leadership, team management, and people development skills.
- Solid knowledge of international trade terms (Incoterms) and documentation.
- High sense of responsibility, integrity, and a proactive work attitude.
- Relevant professional certifications (e.g., in supply chain management or dangerous goods handling) are preferred.
