Health and Safety Advisor at GXO Logistics on a shared-user customer site in Nuneaton. You will lead and manage all aspects of health and safety within the depot, focusing on compliant, best-in-class safety practices, promoting a safe working environment and ensuring operational integrity.

This is a full-time, permanent position, predominantly working Monday to Friday, 08:00 to 17:00. Flexibility may be required on occasions as this is logistics.

What Youll Do On a Typical Day

  • Reporting to the Distribution Centre Manager, you will develop and implement H&S policies, conduct risk assessments, lead incident investigations, deliver training, and liaise with external/internal stakeholders.
  • Facilities management: overseeing maintenance of warehouse infrastructure/cleanliness and security, managing contractor relationships and coordinating repairs and improvement projects.
  • Compliance and reporting: tracking progress through legal compliance, colleague engagement and preparing safety and facility reports, while also supporting audits and inspections.
  • Lead, engage and develop direct report (front desk administrator).
  • Lead and present site inductions.

What Youll Need To Succeed At GXO

  • Previous experience in an operationally focused Health and Safety role.
  • Essential qualification NEBOSH general certification.
  • Strong working knowledge of Health, Safety and Environmental legislative framework.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder relationship skills with a results-driven mindset and ability to share best practices.
  • Promoting and driving a culture of safety engagement in line with the Road to Zero philosophy and improving performance through the implementation of relevant management systems and current standards and legislation; maintenance of a safe and healthy working environment by identifying and controlling risks, leading to the prevention of accidents and work-related ill health.
