Nurse Seekers are currently recruiting on behalf of a well-established residential care home in Newport for a dedicated and compassionate Night Care Assistant. This role is ideal for an experienced care professional who is confident working night shifts and committed to providing high-quality, person-centred care to elderly residents in a residential setting.
Hours
- Average 20 hours per week on a bi-weekly rota
- Alternate weekend working required
- Night shift patterns: 17:00–22:30 and 22:30–07:30
Pay Rates
- Weekdays: £12.60 per hour
- Weekends: £14.24 per hour
Key Responsibilities
- Providing high-quality care and support to residents throughout the night
- Assisting with personal care, mobility, and comfort needs
- Administering medication in line with training and policies
- Monitoring residents' wellbeing and responding appropriately to changes
- Maintaining accurate care records and handovers
- Ensuring a calm, safe, and supportive environment overnight
Requirements
- Previous experience within elderly residential care
- Medication trained
- Ideally, prior experience working night shifts
- QCF Level 2 in Health and Social Care, or working towards / willing to work towards this qualification
- A caring, reliable, and patient approach
- Ability to work independently and as part of a night team
