Are you the perfect co‑pilot for a journey of delivering happiness? Do you want to play a key part in delivering customer satisfaction one B&Q product at a time? If the answer is Yes, read on!

Here at GXO, we’re working together with B&Q and are looking for a Drivers Mate to join our Store to Home team in Washington (NE37 1LH).

You’ll be working on a full‑time, permanent basis, following a two‑week rotating shift pattern: Week 1 Monday to Friday / Week 2 Sunday to Thursday, with a start time of 11:00. The role is contracted to 40 hours per week.

What You’ll Do On a Typical Day

  • Work as part of a two‑person team delivering products to customer premises on a multidrop basis – an average of 16 drops per day off‑peak and 24 drops per day during peak season.
  • Assist the delivery driver in parking and manoeuvring a company vehicle as well as loading and unloading vehicles as required.
  • Provide effective customer service while ensuring goods are delivered in excellent condition.
  • Ensure customers are kept informed of their estimated time of delivery and any issues are communicated in a polite and courteous manner.

What You Need To Succeed At GXO

  • Experience of dealing with multi‑drop home delivery preferred but not essential.
  • Excellent customer service skills, both written and verbal.
  • Willingness to complete manual handling tasks such as pulling, lifting and pushing.
  • Can do attitude with a knack for problem solving.
  • Willingness to undertake pre‑employment Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS Check).
  • Be prepared to commute to Washington (NE37 1LH) for the required shift pattern.
