YEAR 3 TEACHING ASSISTANT – PRIMARY SCHOOL – SHEFFIELD
We are currently recruiting on behalf of a two-form entry primary school in Sheffield seeking a dedicated Teaching Assistant to support a Year 3 class on a full-time basis.
This is a long-term position starting as soon as possible, with the opportunity to become a permanent role for the right candidate.
About the role
You will be working closely with the class teacher to support learning across the curriculum, with a particular focus on literacy and numeracy.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Supporting whole-class learning and classroom routines
- Delivering small group interventions in reading and maths
- Providing 1:1 support for a pupil who requires additional help to stay on task
- Assisting with behaviour management in line with the school’s policies
- Helping to create a structured and positive learning environment

The ideal candidate
- Has previous experience working in a primary school setting

- Has a good understanding of safeguarding and behaviour expectations
A Level 2 or Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification is desirable but not essential.
