Milk Education is partnering with a primary school in Hindley Green (WN2) to recruit a dedicated Year 1 Teaching Assistant to support two Year 1 pupils with SEND on a 1-2-2 basis. This role begins immediately and is a long-term temporary position until July 2026. The Year 1 Teaching Assistant role is full-time, working Monday to Friday from 08:30am to 15:30pm.
The school is seeking a patient, nurturing individual who can provide consistent support, keep the children focused, and help to meet their individual learning needs. Responsibilities include:
- Providing one-to-two support for two Year 1 pupils
- Keeping the child engaged and on task throughout the school day
- Preparing daily resources and supporting learning activities
- Fostering a positive, nurturing learning environment
- Working collaboratively with teaching and support staff
Requirements:
- Experience supporting children with SEND, particularly Autism (desirable)
- Patient, nurturing, and adaptable approach
- Strong communication and teamwork skills
- Commitment to supporting the child’s academic and emotional development
