Milk Education is working with supportive primary schools across Leeds who are now recruiting SEN Teaching Assistants for September starts. If you're patient, empathetic, and passionate about helping young people with additional needs thrive, this is the ideal role for you.
The Role
- Support pupils with a range of additional needs (ASD, ADHD, SEMH, communication needs, learning delays)
- Work 1:1 or in small groups to build confidence, engagement, and emotional regulation
- Help pupils manage routines, behaviour, and social interaction
- Deliver tailored support under the guidance of the class teacher and SENCo
- Create a safe, consistent, and nurturing environment for pupils
- Use strategies from psychology, education, or your own experience to aid learning and behaviour
- Uphold safeguarding and behaviour policies at all times
What We're Looking For
- Experience working with children or young people (school, youth work, SEN, care, tutoring, sports coaching etc.)
- A patient, calm and resilient approach
- A genuine passion for supporting pupils with additional needs
- Strong communication and relationship-building skills
- A degree in Psychology, Education, or a related field is desirable - but no formal TA qualifications are required.
