Office Administrator – Supply

We’re currently recruiting for Office Administrators to join schools and educational settings in and around Wakefield, on a long or short-term supply basis starting in September.

This role is on a supply basis and could either be Day-2-Day work or a Longer-Term position, depending on your preference.

This is a fantastic opportunity for experienced administrators or individuals looking to gain experience within a school environment.

You’ll be joining supportive and inclusive schools where organisation, communication and professionalism are highly valued.

Your main responsibilities will include

  • Provide general administrative and reception support to the school office.
  • Answer telephone calls and emails, dealing with enquiries professionally and directing them to the appropriate member of staff.
  • Maintain accurate school records, databases and filing systems.
  • Support with attendance, pupil records and general school administration where required.
  • Welcome visitors, parents, pupils and staff, providing a friendly and professional first point of contact.
  • Assist the wider school team with day-to-day administrative tasks to ensure the smooth running of the school office.
  • Follow safeguarding, confidentiality and school policies at all times.

Requirements or Skills

  • Previous experience in an administration, reception or office-based role is desirable.
  • Experience working within a school or educational setting is beneficial but not essential.
  • Strong organisational and time-management skills, with excellent attention to detail.
  • Confident using Microsoft Office, email and computer-based systems.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a professional and approachable manner.
  • The ability to work independently and as part of a team, adapting quickly to different school environments.
  • A good understanding of confidentiality and safeguarding when handling sensitive information.
  • An Enhanced DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to obtain one) and the Right to Work in the UK.

This role is paid within the advertised pay scale. Your starting rate will be determined by your qualifications, relevant experience, and the requirements of the assignment.
