Milk Education are seeking a dedicated and compassionate Special Needs Teaching Assistant to join one of our welcoming partner schools in the Bolton area. This is a fantastic opportunity to make a real difference to the lives of children with Special Educational Needs (SEN), supporting them to reach their full potential both academically and personally.

As a Special Needs TA, you’ll be working closely with teachers and other support staff to provide one-to-one or small group assistance to pupils with additional needs such as Autism (ASC), ADHD, speech and language difficulties, or social and emotional challenges.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide tailored support to pupils with a range of special educational needs.
  • Assist the class teacher in planning and delivering differentiated lessons.
  • Encourage positive learning behaviours and help pupils develop social and emotional skills.
  • Monitor progress and provide feedback to teachers and parents.
  • Support pupils with personal care needs (if required).
  • Create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing classroom environment.
Requirements
  • Previous experience working with children with SEN (in a school or care setting).
  • A patient, caring and empathetic nature.
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • A valid DBS on the update service (or willingness to obtain one).
