We’re currently recruiting for a SEN Teaching Assistant to join a large Primary School in Oldham on a long term basis starting ASAP. You’ll be joining an inclusive and supportive school, focused on inclusion and wellbeing of their students and the community. This is a great opportunity for a new or experienced educator to become a familiar face in a school where staffing, culture and community go hand in hand.
Your main responsibilities will include:
- Supporting pupils one-to-one and in small groups, responding to their individual needs
- Helping deliver catch‑up sessions to close learning gaps
- Working alongside the class teacher on lesson planning and adapting resources
- Promoting an accepting, inclusive classroom where every student feels they belong
Requirements or Skills:
- Recent experience working in a school or education setting
- Solid numeracy and literacy skills
- A Level 2 or 3 qualification in childcare, education or similar — or equivalent hands‑on experience
- Comfortable taking direction from the class teacher and working as part of a team
- Experience of supporting students with SEND needs
- Good behaviour management skills
