Milk Education is working in partnership with a welcoming and supportive primary school in Tadcaster who are looking to appoint a passionate and dedicated Level 3 Teaching Assistant to join their team from September 2026.

This is an exciting opportunity for a qualified Teaching Assistant who is committed to supporting children’s learning, development and wellbeing.

You will play a key role in helping pupils overcome barriers to learning, build confidence and achieve their full potential within a nurturing and inclusive classroom environment.

Whether you have experience supporting children in mainstream education, SEND settings or through 1:1 support, we would love to hear from you.

Key Responsibilities

  • Provide high-quality support to pupils across the classroom, including 1:1 and small group interventions.
  • Work closely with the class teacher to deliver engaging and inclusive lessons.
  • Support pupils with their academic, social and emotional development.
  • Adapt learning activities and resources to meet individual pupil needs.
  • Support children with additional needs, including Autism (ASC), ADHD, SEMH and Speech and Language needs.
  • Encourage pupils’ confidence, independence and engagement in learning.
  • Promote positive behaviour through consistent and supportive strategies.
  • Monitor pupil progress and provide feedback to teachers.
  • Support classroom routines, preparation and organisation of learning resources.
  • Build positive relationships with pupils, parents, carers and school staff.
  • Follow safeguarding and child protection procedures at all times.
  • What We’re Looking For

The ideal candidate will have

  • A recognised Level 3 Teaching Assistant qualification or equivalent.
  • Previous experience working within a primary school or educational setting.
  • Experience supporting children with SEND or additional learning needs is desirable.
  • A caring, patient and adaptable approach.
  • Strong communication and teamwork skills.
  • The ability to build positive relationships with pupils and staff.
  • A genuine passion for helping children succeed and reach their full potential.
